Winter sports officially began on Friday, November 17.
Many athletes prepared for the season by attending open gym sessions. Players from each team, boys basketball, girls basketball, and wrestling, shared their predictions on how their respective season may pan out.
Junior basketball player Emma Button predicts a good year for the varsity team.
“I think this basketball season will be good if we work hard and play together as a team,” she says.
Button says she is looking forward to next month.
“I hope we win the Christmas tournament this year. That’s one of our goals.”
Senior basketball player Connor Cranage, a 1000 point club member, says: “We are looking at possibly being league and district champs. Possibly state quarterfinalists, too, with multiple all stars, and a record-breaking season.”
Senior Wrestler Luke Shea believes the wrestling team is headed for a possible league championship.
“I think this season will be a great one. We have a full lineup and it should be competitive at every match. There is a possible league championship we could win with individual district titles.”
