The Blue Ridge girls’ volleyball team claimed their ninth straight district championship last night, November 2, 2022.
The team swept the floor against Lackawanna defeating them in three sets, 3-0.
Junior, Libby Zick paved the way with 5 aces along with 28 assists. Seniors, Foxlynn King (10) and Kate Spencer (8) led the teams in kills. Sophomore, Kaelynn Brant had a pair of blocks. Sophomore, Emma Button had 8 digs.
When asked how it feels to bring home the ninth straight district title, team captain Libby Zick said, “It is a thrilling accomplishment, and gives us a chance to compete in the state playoffs. It’s an amazing feeling to continue on the school’s legacy and be a part of an amazing program.”
The girls will travel to Warwick High School in Lititz, PA to face off against Lititz Christian on Tuesday, November 8 @ 6:00pm.
“We are pumped and motivated to play hard and make it to the next round. This team is more than capable of coming out on the winning end in tough games, and we proved that this year. We just have to believe that we can do it ourselves,” Zick added with her expectations for this team in the state playoffs.
