By: Tim Higgins/Sports Reporter

The Susquehanna Sabers varsity football team ran the Royals of Holy Redeemer into the ground on Saturday, August 27th, 2022.

Susquehanna cruised to a 44-12 victory Saturday night against Holy Redeemer at King’s College. J.J. Rosa had two interceptions along with a 66-yard punt return touchdown.

When asked about his performance he stated, “I feel good about my performance on Saturday. I just have to keep this up throughout the season to help my team make a run.”

Rosa was named ‘Player of The Game’ for his All-Star caliber performance.

William Marcy and Layne Fisk added to the firepower combining for four rushing touchdowns. Marcy also had a 26-yard interception return touchdown.

Rosa says the run game will stay this consistent and possibly better as long as everyone works together and does their job.

The Sabers will take on the Montrose Meteors for The Battle of The Bluestone on Friday, September 2nd, 2022.

“We don’t really have film on them, I’m not sure what we will do in practice to get us prepared. Whatever it is I’m sure it will get us prepared to win this battle once again.”
