Spring Sports

By:Madison Gelinger/Senior Writer

Now that winter sports are over, spring sports are starting up again. Practices have already started for these sports: softball, boy’s volleyball, track, and baseball

The softball team is looking forward to their 2022 season. The first softball game is April 1st against Susquehanna at 4:30 at home; however, they do have a scrimmage against Carbondale on March 23rd at 4:30 PM at Carbondale. One player on the team is Rayne Glover, entering her senior year of softball and she is ”Incredibly excited for this season.” She thinks the team has great potential this season and knows they can compete with any team in the league or even district.

The boy’s volleyball team also has high expectations for their season. Their first game is against Forest City at home on March 19th. Aiden Glasgow, a sophomore on the team, is very excited for this coming season and believes that the team has a lot of potential and is very supportive of each other on the court. His expectations for this year are for them to win the league and districts and make a good run for state playoffs.

The baseball team also thinks their season will go well with their first game on Friday April 1st against Susquehanna. James Barbour, a junior on the team, is very excited for the season to start; he thinks they are looking good this year and will go far this season.

Lastly we have track with their first meet March 24th against Riverside at home and they also have high expectations this season. Kelsey Wolfe, a sophomore, is excited for this season saying that they have a strong young team with a high chance of going far this season. And her expectations this year are very high with her coaches pushing them to be the best that they can be.
