Senior Interviews

On 11 April, the Senior Class of 2024 had their senior interviews to build communication skills. This is a graduation requirement for all Blue Ridge graduates, and here is what some students thought of the experience.

Raider Reader: “How did you feel before your interview?”

Kaleb Norton: “I felt calm.”

Raider Reader: “How do you feel now that your interview is over?”

Kaleb Norton: “I now feel relieved.”

Raider Reader: “How did your interviewer relate to your future career?”

Kaleb Norton: “My interviewer was Rose Warner who has a business degree and works at NBT Bank. We talked about loans and the broker business.”

Raider Reader: “What advice would you give to the upcoming class of 2025?”

Kaleb Norton: “You should prepare yourself to be challenged, and you should come with knowledge of your future career.”

 

Raider Reader: “How did you feel before your interview?”

Sophia Bianchi: “I felt confident.”

Raider Reader: “How do you feel now that your interview is over?”

Sophia Bianchi: “I feel sweaty.”

Raider Reader: “How did your interviewer relate to your future career?”

Sophia Bianchi: “She was a human resource employee for NEPA Healthcare. I would have preferred an actual nurse.”

Raider Reader: “What advice would you give to the upcoming class of 2025?”

Sophia Bianchi: “You should prepare all of your questions and have all your questions ready to ask.”

 

Here are some thoughts from one of the interviewers representing a certain field.

Raider Reader: “Have you done senior interviews before?”

Mr. Corbin: “No, I have not.”

Raider Reader: “What career were you interviewing for?”

Mr. Corbin: “Fence contracting business.”

Raider Reader: “What do you look for in your interviews?”

Mr. Corbin: “Students who are responsible, hardworking, and people who are genuinely interested in doing the job.”

Emily Hanson is a junior at Blue Ridge High School. She is the president of Student Council and is also involved in many other clubs such as Science Club, Leo Club, SADD, and Art Club. Emily loves cheering in the Raider Dome along with cheering for the school's competition team. Finally, she loves to spend time with her family, especially her dog, at family events.
