“Keep taking time for yourself until you’re you again.” -Lalah Delia

Senior Stephanie Buerkle future plans are to attend Rochester Institute of Technology to major in mechanical engineering and a minor in music. She also plans on attending some type of ensemble at college also.

At Blue Ridge High School, she was involved in PMEA (3 years), Science Club (2 years), National Honors Society  (3 years), Pride Club (1 year), Leo Club (1 year), Lions Band (4 years), and apart of the BRSD musicals. She was also apart of the cross country team (2 years) and track and field team (2 years). She added, “Band is an open opportunity for future social and professional avenues. I encourage students to be heavily involved with band if you are passionate about music.”

Buerkle’s favorite high school memory is PMEA trips with her band teacher, Vincent LoRusso.

After graduation, she is going to miss her teachers and friends. She said, “I will miss opportunities to learn and the fun experiences that high school brings.”

When asked about her favorite teacher, she said that there was a tie between Lord Vincent Gerard LoRusso and Beth Vaccaro. She continued to say how she grew close with them and valued her time with them.

Buerkle’s mentor throughout high school was her flute lesson teacher, Anne Chairge.

Her favorite class was Physics because it was an interesting subject and she enjoyed the teacher.

Steph’s favorite school lunch is beef pasta.

Buerkle’s advice to underclassman is “do not take a lot of AP classes if you are not ready for the work load. It is not worth it and do not just take it to take it. You should value your grades and it should not be something you just cross off on your to-do list.”
