By: Reese Allen/Content Editor and Junior Writer

Hope will never be silent.” – Harvey Milk

Senior Marissa Sharer plans to study music in college after graduating from high school. Sharer chose music because it has always been her passion. She thinks she would enjoy music because “it has the opportunity to support those in need”.

Sharer is looking forward to the next step in her life because it will allow her to pursue her goals in new ways. She’s also excited that she gets to choose which classes and courses that help her achieve her career objectives.

During her time at Blue Ridge, Sharer has participated in a variety of sports and clubs. She’s been a cheerleader for 12 years, a Girl Scout for five years, and a basketball player for three years. Sharer plans on continuing her cheerleading career in college.

When asked to give advice to underclassmen Sharer stated, “Don’t ever give up. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.”
