Senior Libby Zick’s future plans are attend college to earn a degree in early childhood education and to hopefully play volleyball.
At Blue Ridge High School, she is involved in National Honors Society (3 years and treasurer her senior year), SADD (4 years), Science Club (2 years), and Student Council (4 years).
She was also apart of volleyball (4 years), basketball (4 years), and managing boys volleyball (4 years).
Stemming off of her involvement in the clubs at Blue Ridge, she was a four time district champ, three time Lackawanna League champ, two time all-region player of the year, and 1st team all-state selection.
Zick’s favorite high school memory is playing sports with her friends.
She says, “I get to do my favorite thing with the people I enjoy being around the most. I get to grow my bonds with them, and the time spent together is invaluable. “
After graduation, Zick is going to miss to her friends and playing sports with them.
Zick’s favorite teacher is Beth Vaccaro.
Zick said, “She is a highly effective teacher who is funny and very helpful to students.”
To add on, her mentor was her mom.
She said “She has taught me so many things. Not only have I learned volleyball through her, but she had taught me valuable life lessons.”
She also commented on her favorite class being ceramics.
“It is an easy peaceful class to end my day with and it is something new to me,” she said.
Zick’s favorite school lunch is either mozzarella sticks or crispy chicken wrap.
Her advice to underclassman is, “High school is one small part of your life- don’t fuss so much over it.”
