The Blue Ridge High School varsity basketball cheerleading captain, Krystal Hepler, is a senior this year. Throughout her high school career, she has been involved in numerous activities. These include basketball cheerleading (three years), dance (15 years), track and field (five years), Leo Club (four years) and FBLA (one year). Krystal is also a member of Prom Committee and Homecoming Committee.
Hepler says that her advice to underclassmen is to “stop caring about what other people think. Do what you need to do to succeed. Have a voice and don’t be afraid to use it.”
After high school, she plans to attend Mansfield University with a declared major in social work or psychology.
Hepler’s favorite thing about high school has been “pep rallies or inside jokes with teachers.” She says she especially enjoyed “chatting up with Mr. Tom Lewis (now retired) in gym class.”
She will miss seeing her friends every day, but she’s looking forward to moving on to bigger and better things in the future.
