Katie White, a senior at Blue Ridge this year, has most of her future planned for when she graduates and moves on to her later life. Katie plans on attending Juniata College, and will be majoring in Healthcare Administration, with aspirations of being a healthcare administrator at a hospital. White says she chose this career path because she loves helping people. She one day plans to be working in a hospital, helping the patients financially, and managing their experience. She will also be carrying on her High School softball career into college.
While Katie accomplishes these goals, she also took a look back on what she has accomplished in her High School career at Blue Ridge. She has participated in Students Against Destructive Decisions (1 year), National Honor Society (2 years), volleyball (3 years), and softball (3 years, soon to be 4). Though Katie says she anticipates the next few years to be more demanding, she believes if she focuses on her studies, she will be just fine. While White is attending Juniata, she plans on getting involved in clubs; more specifically, clubs where she can participate in community service.
For the underclassman of 2021, Katie’s advice to you is, “Nobody was lying when they said High School flies by. It really does. So take your time and enjoy these years. Don’t wish them away because before you know it, it will be over.”
