Senior Feature: Jacob Birtch

By: Brock Fuller/Junior Editor

The following quote represents Jacob Birtch’s experience at Blue Ridge High School – “Get busy living or get busy dying.” – Shawshank Redemption.

Jacob Birtch plans to attend Word of Life Bible Institute for one year. Afterwards, he plans to become a cadet in the Airforce Academy. When he is in college, he wants to compete in sports, though he is undecided which sport he wants to compete in yet. His dream job is to be a National Geographic photographer. Getting paid to travel the world, exploring places few people have stepped foot, and telling stories about his adventures are all reasons that drive this aspiration.

During his high school career, Jacob Bitrch participated in many clubs and sports. He participated in Soccer, Cross-Country, and Track & Field and was also active in Ski Club, Science Club, SADD, Geocaching, Envirothon, Scholastic Team, Prom Committee, Student Council, and National Honors Society. Jacob has held many leadership positions in his clubs, and he was also the team captain of the sports he participated in.

Jacob Birtch anticipates his next few years will be very exciting and full of adventure. He said that he looks forward to doing what he wants when he wants to do it. If he had any advice to give to the underclassmen, it would be to treat others the way you want to be treated.
