Senior Breanna Graves’s Blue Ridge high school career is soon coming to an end, but she’s already focusing on her future plans. She plans to major in dance but is still undecided which college she wants to attend. During college Graves says, “I would like to continue participating on dance teams, playing in the band, and creating all types of art in my free time.” She also anticipates that, compared to high school, the next few years will be “much harder workwise, but I’ll have more freedom which I’m definitely more excited for.”
During her time at Blue Ridge, Graves kept busy with a few extracurricular activities. She’s been part of the band for 7 years and was also part of National Honor Society for 3 years. Outside of school, Graves danced at a local dance studio, Windwood Hill Dance Academy, for 6 years.
When asked what her dream job would be, she responded “It would either be dancing in a company or being able to go on Broadway. Both experiences would amazing to be apart of.” She also stated that once her initial career is over she wishes to become a dance teacher herself, inspired by her dance teacher Bobbie Kelsey.
When asked what advice she’d give to underclassmen, Graves said: “Don’t stress too much about the little things, make good non-toxic friends, and have fun while it lasts!”
