Science Club Takes a Lead on Helping the Community

Thursday, February 22nd, Blue Ridge’s Science Club invited Miller-keystone Blood Center to host a blood drive. There was a total of 29 people that signed up, but unfortunately only 18 pints were given due to the inability of 11 people.

“My dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2020, at the time he also suffered other medical issues. With that happening he needed lots of blood transfusions. It inspired me to get my blood donated so I could help save others lives the way someone helped save my dads life.”  Senior Madison Makosky shared on why she donated blood.

Sophomore Kelbeigh Lankford explains why she decided to donate blood. “A lot of my family has to do with the medical field so I know how important it is to donate blood”
