Ross’s Thoughts on the Senior Class

By: Peyton Gelinger/Junior Writer and Ryan Glatzel/Junior Writer

“Thoughts on the Senior Class” is a new Q and A segment on the Raider Reader. It is all about commonly asked questions on this year’s senior class. Questions will be asked to many teachers and staff in the Blue Ridge High School.

Ms. Ross

Role(s): Social Studies Teacher

Have you had members of the senior class throughout all four years of their high school career?:

“No. I did have the AP students in their junior year.”

Do you think the senior class is ready to graduate and move on to more schooling or career opportunities?:

“Absolutely! This is a group of ambitious and hard-working students. I am confident that the Blue Ridge class of 2020 is ready for the next phase of their lives.”

Is it sad to watch them go?:

“I have taught seniors for 21 years. Honestly, I don’t consider it sad when our students leave due to graduation. I am excited for what their futures hold.”

Are there some senior class members you’re gonna miss more than others?:

“I make every effort to avoid having favorites. I try my best to emphasize equity. With that said, the students whose sense of humor mesh well with mine hold a special place in my estimation. Lol.”

What are some of your favorite memories from or with this year’s senior class?:

“I have only had the seniors for one quarter. I would only generally remark that they are a really nice group of kids.”

Is there anything else you’d like to add about this year’s senior class, or advice for next year’s upcoming senior class?:

“Don’t forget to always consider the opportunity costs of your decisions!”
