By: Emily McCarthy/ Junior writer

How are students of the month selected?

The Blue Ridge School District, appoints students every month to be recognized for having superior character. These students are role models throughout the month and set an example to have more positive participation from students to others. Each month every high school teacher nominates and votes from a group of students chosen. Nominating students from each grade level.

What do you receive in response?

The students that are chosen to get this award receive a certificate and a free ice-cream voucher from the Blue Ridge cafeteria, along with the chance to represent themselves at the Blue Ridge Board meeting; motivating other students to participate in positive behavior each month.
