By: Christie Baldwin/Junior Writer

Winter  is the giving season and the middle school and high school life skills students are showing their kindness by making small quilts to donate!

Adele Bennett is the life skills teacher and her students have been spending the last three months making blankets that they plan to donate to Gracious Living and True Friends. Bennett gave her students the task of creating blankets to show them how it feels to give back to their community. They will be delivering the quilts on the twentieth of December; just in time for Christmas! “The hope is to brighten a few people and pups holiday season.” stated Bennett.

Bennett’s class also sold raffle tickets that were one dollar per ticket or five dollars for six tickets. The drawing was held on December the nineteenth and the winners are Katie Brown the Advanced Placement (AP) U.S. History teacher, Joan Haskell the office clerk in the High School office, and Amber Turner the High School Track Coach.
