GAME REVIEW: DOOM ETERNAL

By: Ben Marble/Junior Writer

“In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. He chose the path of perpetual torment. In his ravenous hatred he found no peace. And with boiling blood he scoured the Umbral Plains seeking vengeance against the dark lords who had wronged him. And those that tasted the bite of his sword named him… The Doom Slayer.” ― The Legend of the Doom Slayer

Doom Eternal is a first-person shooter video game developed by id software and published by Bethesda Softworks. Doom Eternal is the fifth installment of the popular first person shooter franchise Doom. Doom Eternal is the sequel to Doom (2016). This series (Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal) follows the path of Doom Slayer as he rips, tears and shreds his way through hell. Doom Eternal was released on March 20th, 2020 for the Xbox One, Google Stadia, PlayStation 4 and Windows. The Nintendo Switch version released recently on December 8th, 2020.

Doom Eternal takes place eight months after the events of Doom (2016). You play the role as Doom Slayer. The Doom Slayer also known by the UAC as DM1-5, DOOM Marine or The Slayer. To the Demons of Hell, he is known as the Doom Slayer, the Unchained Predator, or the Hell Walker. He is the protagonist and playable character in Doom (2016), Quake Champions, and Doom Eternal.

This game was amazing in many ways, from the graphics to the attention to detail and even the storyline was good. The demons looked cooler and the bosses were harder than the previous game. I would rate this game an 8/10. If you like first person shooter and violent games then this game is for you. I recommend playing Doom (2016) before playing Doom Eternal.
