DTE Energy Donates to Blue Ridge

By: Skylar Secord/Content Editor

April 28 of this year DTE Energy generously made two donations to the Blue Ridge School District.  Both donations were given to support the technology and scholarship programs respectively.

The first donation gifted to the school was $8,875 to go towards assisting a mobile laptop cart for Blue Ridge Elementary School.  The mobile laptop cart will help the elementary students in furthering their education and assist in the technological facilities the school can provide for the younger students.  Both students and teachers are ecstatic for the addition and help from the donation to the mobile laptop cart.

The latter donation gifted to the school was worth $200 to add upon the Blue Ridge Board of Education Senior Scholarship program.  The Board Scholarship program is an essay based scholarship for senior students at Blue Ridge.  The deadline to apply for the scholarship is May 5.  The criteria for the scholarship includes two essays written by the applicant.  The scholarship will be awarded and recognized at a later date.
