Disney+ Review

By: Carissa Zawiski/Junior Assistant to the Editor

The most awaited streaming service of the year is Disney+, and on November 12, 2019, Disney+ was launched for the first time. For only $6.99 a month, or $70 for the whole year, Disney+ subscribers can watch up to 500 movies, and 7,500 TV shows. How do you know if you should get Disney+?

Well, if you’re a fan of all things Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic, I would definitely recommend buying Disney+. Since the release, Disney+ is already competing with top services and will continue to grow stronger as they get more content. Its features consist of offline downloads, 4K streaming, and personalized recommendations. Also, one subscription will give access to four simultaneous streams with seven profiles on a maximum of ten devices.

Disney+ is set up similarly to Netflix and Amazon Prime Video; if you’ve used those streaming services before, you’ll know what to expect based off of design. It’s basically row after row of content, and is sorted by different categories.

Personally, I would rate Disney+ an 8/10. The only problems I’ve experienced with Disney+ are some minor buffering issues and that it is missing a couple of original Disney movies. However, Disney has stated that the company is already working on fixing some of these issues. I’ve definitely enjoyed re-watching my favorite childhood shows, as well as some new ones. It’s also perfect to get together with family and friends to have a movie night!
