Cross Country Senior Night

By: Danielle Tierney/ Editor in Chief

It’s that time of the year again where fall sports are having their home meets and games, and with this comes the harsh reality of seniors having their final season. For cross country, the seniors being recognized this year definitely put all they have into their sport, and they care deeply about their teammates as well. Blue Ridge Cross Country Senior night took place on Tuesday, September 14th. Thank you if you came out to support our runners. Let’s celebrate their all their years of handwork, and be sure to congratulate them if you get a chance!

Senior Lillian Bleck

As a longtime and very successful runner at Blue Ridge, she will definitely be missed by her coaches and teammates. Supported by both of her parents, she was recognized this year on the track along with the rest of our seniors this year by her side. She had a very good race on our home course and placed 35th overall.

Senior Cameron Robinson

Cameron is our cross country veteran this year, having been on the team since she was in 7th grade. Throughout her years, she has built up strong relationships with her fellow runners, including the younger ones who most definitely look up to her as a strong runner. All of her teammates know she puts in her all and has never given up. On the home course this year, she placed 38th overall. Her future plans include going into the army after she graduates.

Senior Ashley Tomassacci

Ashley, though the newest runner of the seniors this year, has definitely made her impact on the team throughout her last two years. This is her final and third year on the team, and without a doubt she has left a lasting impression on all of her teammates and cross country camp friends. She is always supporting her teammates, and you will never see her putting in effort that is not all she can give. This year on the home course, she placed 37th overall. Her plans after she graduates is to go to college and become a screen writer.

Congratulations to all of our Cross Country seniors!

Danielle Tierney
Danielle Tierney grew up in Hallstead, Pennsylvania. She is a full-time student, with many hobbies on the side. Some of those hobbies include playing guitar, playing piano, playing ukulele, listening to music, lyrical ballet, riding bikes, and swimming. She would love to talk to you about the band The Strokes at any time of the day. Because she didn't have games on her old Windows XP desktop as a young kid, she wrote stories on Microsoft Word for fun.
