Cross Country First Meet Of The Season

On Friday, September 12th Blue Ridge Cross Country had there first home meet of the season along with their Senior Night!

Along with an eventful night, there were some extra runners. Due to injuries the Varsity team was short of runners. Soccer players Eli McArthur, Jake Birtch and Mason Conklin had to run in the race with the Cross Country team.

It was Captain Holly Geyer’s senior night, she was the only senior. She has been running since 7th grade! Her best time so far is 24:10, but is hoping to beat that time during the course of this season. Geyer stated that “ I am going to miss the unique bond the Blue Ridge Cross Country team has had and the sports ability to push you in ways you didn’t know you could be.”

The teams times and places in the match are as followed. (3) Eli McArthur, (4) Duncan Geyer, (8) Jake Birtch, (9) Ryan Stallings, (10) Mason Conklin, (11) Holly Geyer, (12) Lilly Bleck, (14) Griffin Whitehead, (15) Cameron Robinson, (16) Madeline Naylor, (17) Ashley Tomassacci, (19) Olivia Phillips, (20) Stephanie Buerkle, (22) Sophia Bianchi.

Peyton Gelinger is a senior in High School. She is a player for the blue ridge Lady raiders varsity  volleyball team and a competitive dancer. When she is not busy doing her school work along with sports Peyton loves to spend time with her family and friends. She planes to attend college to major is Sociology / Human services At Indiana University Of Pennsylvania.
