Come to Raider Cafe

By: Morgan Mansfield/Co-Editor in Chief

If you enjoy sipping coffee while admiring artwork with live musical performances in the background, then Raider Cafe is the place for you!

The fourth annual Raider Cafe will be held this Thursday, December 13th in the Blue Ridge cafeteria from 5 to 8 pm.  The entry fee is $2 per person.

“The atmosphere is very relaxed and mellow. Friends and family come to hang out, have coffee and watch the performers,” said Mrs. Sarrah Dibble-Camburn, the art teacher at Blue Ridge.

The art portion of the cafe includes a display of student artwork, as well as a few students who will be creating art during the cafe.  There will also be mugs for sale that were created by members of the art club.

For the music portion of the event, according to chorus teacher Ms. Amy Zakarauskas, the Raider Cafe features music from artists like Fun, Train, Adele, Plain White T’s, Green Day, Mumford and Sons, Taylor Swift, and more.  The cafe will even have dancing and a magic act!

“We have so much talent at Blue Ridge and the Raider Cafe is a great way to feature music and art in a relaxed atmosphere,” said Zakarauskas.

According to Camburn, people are always pleasantly surprised at our amazing and talented Blue Ridge students.  An evening at the Raider Cafe is a fun and chill way to showcase the artistic side of Blue Ridge.

Zakarauskas encourages you all to, “stop in for a few minutes or stay all night, enjoy a bite to eat, and hang out with your friends while being entertained by the best acts in town!”
