Many students grades 6-12 were interviewed on what they thought about this presentation. Majority of students agree that the presentation motivated them to stay away from drugs. Seventh Grader Chris Kowaleski said, “The presentation was really good and it encouraged me to stay away from drugs.”

Twelfth grader, Stephanie Buerkle also shared, “Herren spread the message really well and helped motivate students to stay away from drugs.”

As you can tell many students agree that Chris Herren did an excellent job at motivating youth to stay away from drugs.

High School teacher, Gregory Bitner, who was also at the presentation, said, “Herren did a great job and spread a realistic message to me, he came across differently than other presenters we’ve had but I like the way he taught.”

This shows that Chris Herren also reached the adult base along with the students. Overall views show that Herren’s message was extremely impactful and had a positive reaction from the school district.

Students were also asked about their opinions on the video shown at the beginning of the presentation. There were some mixed views on how impactful it was. Eleventh graders, Connor Blewett and Jesse Robbins both said, “The video was more impactful and got more of our attention.”

However, eleventh grader, Aiden Chopolosky said, “I feel like the presentation taught me more than the video.”

This shows that both the video presented and Chris Herren’s speech were very insightful, but has different opinions on what helped more. The message was very well spread but it is debatable on what was more helpful.
