On behalf of the Blue Ridge School Board, I wanted to take a moment to reflect and appreciate the time Edward Arnold was a member of our board. Eddie joined our board in December 2015 with the safety of our students, teachers, and staff as his top priority. Eddie spent countless hours at the school walking around the building, looking at entrances and exits, and talking with other professionals on how to keep our Blue Ridge family safe. There was never any doubt that his first priority was to elevate Blue Ridge as the best example of how to keep a school safe. He was vital to our SRO program and the programs that came from having an SRO on campus.
At our meetings, Eddie always took the time to get to the bottom of a problem with questions and took the time to pause and reflect to find the solution. Eddie always made sure his voice was heard and took the time to listen to our community members when he was at work, at a sporting event for his grandchildren, or just around in our community. You always knew that you could have an answer when you asked Eddie and if he didn’t know, he would find out.
We will always remember Eddie for his patriotism, his love of his family, and his pride for our school. Our thoughts are with his family at this time. Thank you Eddie for your service.
