Blue Ridge’s Fashion Designer

By: Emma Davis/ Editor-in-Chief

Fashion is a big thing in today’s society. Blue Ridge student Isaiah Torres tackles this subject by enlightening the people around him on how fashion is so much more than what meets the eye.

Clothing is a way students and young people all around the world use to express themselves. Isaiah is helping people express themselves, allowing them to rock a night of fun with confidence.

Take a look at just some of Torres’s designs on these girls who were able to walk in with one of a kind dresses for their 2023 homecoming.

The Impact

The girls were interviewed on how they felt when they finally put their dresses on.

Emily Danora, a student who attends Montrose and is a friend of Torres’s, mentions how thankful she was to have a dress made by him. “It was very beautiful, I loved it very much, and I am so thankful that you made me a dress.”

“The one day I brought it home I was ecstatic and so excited to finally put my vision on.” Eli Buchanan states.

Buchanan also mentioned how happy and comfortable she felt in her dress, “I felt happy in it, I could dance in it and feel comfortable.”

“I wasn’t planning on attending homecoming. Looking for dresses isn’t my favorite thing, they are too short, too long, or just altogether don’t look flattering on me. I struggle a little extra with my height. However, Isaiah wasn’t going to allow me to miss out on the fun and designed a dress that achieved the feeling and statement I was looking for.” Emma Davis, an 11th grader attending Blue Ridge explained.

Words from Isaiah

Torres was asked how he feels seeing people wear the clothes he made, and his answer was quite clear on what his passion is all about.

“I feel so proud and happy at the fact I can be a factor in someone’s special day. I also feel like I am truly creating peoples visions which is really important to me.”

Isaiah Torres’s compassionate vision creates something powerful, a chance for everyone to experience a feeling so special.
