A Quote that represents Alexis Parks’s High School Experience is- “You have to believe in yourself when no one else does.” – Serena Williams
As Alexis Parks finishes up high school at Blue Ridge School District, she plans to attend a four-year college for nursing to receive her RN degree and become a travel nurse for experience and to see the country. Then she plans to go back to college for her master’s degree and to become a nurse practitioner. Her dream is to be a travel nurse to see as much of the country as she can and then come back and settle down as a nurse practitioner at home.
During college, she plans to participate in many activities, such as student government, professional organizations, and Volunteer-based organizations. She plans on only participating during her free time and only if she has the opportunity to do so. Meanwhile, in high school, she was the Vice President of NHS, Class president, a part of the Leo club, Sadd, the Vice President of Student Council, and a member of the FBLA, part of the National Honor Society of High School Scholars. Along with playing Basketball from 9th grade to 11th grade, Volunteered with Blue Ridge’s Basketball Club, helps with the food pantry, works as a hostess at Dobbs, babysat, helped around the farm all year, Science Club and Prom Committee.
Alexis says, “I honestly expect that these next few years will be surprisingly easier and laid back. I always plan to work hard but I hope to enjoy my time at college” , as to how she anticipates the next few years of her life to be.
A piece of advice Alexis would like to share with her peers’ states, “Do your homework. It might not seem important but, it can change everything.”
