A Decade Later, Non-Stop is Still Worth Watching

By: Kelsi Howe/Guest Writer

What started as just a thought by the director, turned into a blockbuster movie for all to see.

Non-Stop is a 2014 film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra at York Studios in Queens, New York. The movie stars Liam Neeson as Bill Marks, Nate Parker as Zach White, Julianne Moore as Jen Summers, Corey Stoll as Austin, and Scoot McNairy as Tom Bowen. The movie surrounds FBI agent, Bill Marks, and his dangerous adventure onboard a plane headed across the ocean.

Non-Stop is all about an air marshal fighting with alcoholism who is assigned to run security on a transatlantic flight. During this flight, he receives a text message saying that unless 150 million dollars is transferred to an offshore account, someone will die every 20 minutes. Marks must pull out every tactic he has to stop this terrorist before people are killed. He faces challenges and obstacles at every turn as he tries to do this.

Having the entire setting of the movie on a plane is of key interest for me. As someone who travels a lot, it was intense to imagine how the plot of Non-Stop could unfold on a real-life flight. It was definitely a sign to be cautious with life.

Although this movie is not appropriate for children because of the vulgar language and violent scenes, I would definitely recommend Non-Stop to ages 13 and up. The biggest reason it is a must watch is because of its suspense-factor. Not knowing who the antagonist is for most of the movie keeps the viewer engaged the entire time. The movie is also full of action scenes that keep the viewer on the edge of his/her seat. Even so, the ending itself might be the best part of the movie. Viewers could not ask for a better closing to the whole movie.

Can Agent Marks stop the terrorist and save everyone on the plane? Find out for yourself by watching Non-Stop.
