As fall sports come to a close, winter sports are coming in full force. Sports such as wrestling, girls and boys basketball, and basketball cheerleading are preparing for the upcoming season pushing for a successful year.
The girls’ basketball team is coached by Michael Courtright and Paul Devine. Courtright has been coaching for 2 years but has previously coached at other schools. Devine is back for his second year also as the junior varsity coach. The seniors in the team are Savannah Glover, Christie Baldwin, and Ashley Torres. They are looking forward to a fun and hopefully successful season.
For the boys’ basketball team, Casey Jenkins is returning for his sixth year coaching. The seniors on the team are Gabe Waldowski, Gavin Rosa, Tyler Hillard, Ben Bleck, and Clayton Whitney. With a big turnout for players, the team is equipped and ready to dominate.
What’s boys’ basketball without cheerleaders? The basketball cheerleading team is coached by Amy Gelsinger. Clarisa Millard, Madison Lord, and Mykenzie Layton are the senior leaders of the squad. The girls are ready to cheer on the Raiders to victory!
Last but certainly not least, boys’ wrestling. The wrestling team is coached by Timothy Esposito. The team had a very successful season last year, and they are pushing hard to go even farther. The seniors include Nate Barton and Eli Aldrich.
Come out and support your Raiders as they head into the new season! Go Raiders!
