Varsity Soccer Recovers from Tough Losses

On September 13th, Varsity Soccer went against St. Gregory the Great Academy, an all boys boarding school. At half time, the Raiders were up 3-0 with goals scored by Ryan Mills (2) and Ben Bleck. But, it was all St Gregory in the second half. The opposing team rallied behind their rowdy student section and managed to score 7 goals, taking the win 7-4.

After the tough loss againt St. Gregory the Raiders went on to play the Mountain View Eagles on September 17th. In the first half both teams started off hot scoring two goals a peice. Raiders goals scored by Gerald Welstead and Ryan Mills. Though it would be completly opposite in the second half with neither teams scoring. The game headed to overtime. Neither team scored in the first overtime period but it would eventaully be the Eagles who rallied up the pitch in double overtime to win the game 3-2.

After two tough losses the Raiders needed to rebound and get back on track with a win. They went against the West Scranton Invaders and managed to come out with a 6-0 shutout win. Goals were scored by Ben Bleck (2), Ryan Mills (2), Cameron Franks , and Garrett Conklin (PK). Assists by Mills, Bleck, Franks, and Conklin. Goalie Jake Morris had 7 saves.

The Raiders play the Riverside Vikings away September 23, at 4:15pm
