Mason Conklin a senior at Blue Ridge, is planning on attending college to and to get his bachelor’s in chemical engineering. Conklin hopes to work in the production of pharmaceuticals doing chemical engineering. It may sound like Conklin has a lot of studying to do, but he still keeps up with activities as well as maintaining his grades. He participates in National Honor Society(3 years), SADD(4 years), SADD Treasuer(1 year), SADD vice president(1 year), Scholastic Bowl(1 year), Envirothon(4 years), Student Council(2 years), class treasurer(1 year), District and Regional(2 years), President of Science Club(2 years), soccer(4 years), Track and Field(2 years), and volleyball for (1 year).
Conklin knew he wanted to become and chemical engineer because he enjoys science and he loves chemistry. He thinks that chemical engineering would be able to challenge him as much as he would enjoy it too. He plans on playing soccer throughout college the intramural level. His dream job is to become a chemical engineer and work on the lines of the production of pharmaceuticals.
Conklin can’t wait for to see what the future holds for him and thinks that it will be nerve racking, but he is excited for a new beginning. His advice to the underclassmen is to “Put your pull effort into everything, and that you have done it to the best of your ability and be proud of that.” He also adds to make sure to make make friends, and find a club that’s fun and interesting because it helps through hard times.
