“I want to be successful, and high school is the first step to achieve that.” -Clarisa Millard
Senior Clarisa Millard has been an active member of Blue Ridge Varsity Sports for many years. She’s participated in basketball cheer for three years, earning the role of captain for two out of those three years. She’s also been on the softball team for four years.
Beside sports, Millard was a student council member for one year, and has been in chorus for all four years of her high school career.
After high school, Millard plans to go to an undecided college to study psychology and become a counselor, even though her dream job would to be a makeup artist. “I would love to do celebrities’ makeup, because it would be so much fun and cool to travel around.” During college she doesn’t plan on doing much, beside finding a job, so she can focus on her school work.
When asked how she anticipates the next few years, Millard states that “the next few years will probably have a lot of ups and downs. They’ll also have more challenges compared to high school, because after high school is when another chapter of your life starts. I also have to be more independent.”
She hopes to leave the underclassmen with advice to “don’t worry, high school goes by fast and you will be graduating in no time. Also, be nice to everyone!”
