I strongly recommend the book Milk And Honey by Rupi Kaur. Through this beautiful book of poems and hand-drawn art by the author herself, Rupi Kaur tells of the social shift of the woman’s place in everyday life due to her moving into the United States. The book itself is sectioned into four parts, the hurting, the loving, the breaking, and the healing. Each of the four parts represents a separate topic she faces as she overcomes the previous obstacles. This book is truly a self-empowering novel about overpowering some of the hardest things in life, whether it be violence, abuse, love, or loss, to become something beautiful.
