By: Breanna Post/co-sports editor

SWISH! This past Friday and Saturday, both the girls and boys basketball teams competed in the tip-off tournaments. The girls traveled to Towanda to compete with teams of Sayre, Western Wayne, and Towanda, while the boys had the home-court advantage playing against Sayre, Wyalusing, and the neighboring team of Susquehanna.

Starting out strong, the lady Raiders faced Sayre winning 42-23. Lead scorers were sophomore Kara Wdowiak and senior Ashley Torres with 12 points. The next day, they took a loss against Towanda going 64-25.

With the boys, the Raiders played against Sayre losing 67-59 and then again on Saturday against Wyalusing losing 49-36, with senior Ben Bleck having a lead total of 28 points. The team pushed hard with support from cheerleaders and full stands but managed to come up short.
