If you have been in the hallways of Blue Ridge High School, it’s almost guaranteed that you’ve heard Wesley Wojtkowski singing something while dancing down the hallway. It’s no secret that he has a passion for music, and that is shown by his musical involvement throughout the years.
In theatre, Wojtkowski has acted in the “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Wizard of Oz,” and “My Fair Lady,” among others. This year he earned the lead role in “The Music Man” in which he will be performing on Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17.
Wojtkowski is a three-year member of the Blue Ridge chorus, and has been recognized for various achievements. During his junior year, Wojtkowski went to districts on voice part bass 1 where he advanced to regionals, but unfortunately had to leave early. He is currently practicing for this year’s district competition.
Not only does Wojtkowski sing, he also plays instruments. He is self taught on the ukelele, which he has been playing for three years; and he is also self taught on the piano, which he has been playing for four years.
“Music has always been a part of my life, and is something extremely important to me” he says.
The next time you have the chance to see Wojtkowski perform, whether that be in a musical or at a chorus concert, you should definitely seize the opportunity.
