When you hear about Blue Ridge volleyball, you recognize the hard work that is put in to continue their six 6 consecutive years of winning districts. That would not be possible without the dedication from the players. One player, junior Hunter Heeman, has shown to be a great asset to the team by accomplishing many of her goals.
This year, Heeman reached her goal of achieving 500 kills with a total of 509, only 3 away from the school record of 512. She has been on varsity for 3 years, having 87 kills freshman year, 165 sophomore year, and then gaining another 257 her junior year. We can only look forward to seeing what her senior year brings.
Heeman was also chosen for first team all-league, receiving the coach’s approval from other Lackawanna league teams. She was also recently awarded All-State, being selected as one of the best players from the area and the best at her position. Due to this recognition, Heeman will have her volleyball jersey retired at the end of her senior season, along with previous stars, Megan Houlihan and Hayleigh Fekette.
