Game Review: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Jedi: Fallen Order is an action-adventure game developed by Respawn Entertainment (developers of Titanfall and Apex Legends) and published by EA (Electronic Arts). It was fully released for Xbox One, PS4, and Windows/PC. Jedi: Fallen Order was released on November 15th, 2019. There are many Star Wars games out there available to play, from Battlefront 2 which was released on November 17th, 2017, to Star Wars: The Old Republic released on December 20th, 2011. Is Jedi: Fallen Order the best single-player Star Wars game available to play? Let’s find out. 

Fallen Order takes place after the events of Revenge of the Sith (The 3rd installment of the Skywalker saga) when all of the Jedi have been purged from the galaxy at the command of Emperor Palpatine. You play as Cal, a Jedi Padawan who managed to escape the Empire and is now living a quiet, solitary life as a scrapper, shut off from the Force. Naturally, it’s not long until he’s forced to abandon that life and is pulled back into the never-ending struggle between the light and dark sides. He joins up with some resistance members for an ambitious plan: to uncover a hidden list of Force-sensitive children found inside of a Jedi Holocron, and ultimately rebuild the Jedi Order. In this game, you will fight not just stormtroopers, but giant monsters and skilled warriors set on different planets. One of the many worlds you will spend your time on is Zeffo, where you explore ancient tombs and useful secrets. Throughout the game, you unlock new force abilities and can find parts to customize your lightsaber. It doesn’t change how your lightsaber works, it just looks cool. 

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a great game. At times this game can be frustrating finding answers to puzzles and secret force echoes, along with small glitches and bugs but the fighting and boss fights make up for it. Jedi: Fallen Order is the best single-player Star Wars game of the decade in my opinion (The Force Unleashed 2 was amazing too). Respawn did a fantastic job creating this game from the character designs and the lore behind everything, this game was fantastic. I give this game a 9.5/10. If you love Star Wars or just action-adventure games in general, then this game is for you.
