First Delay for Blue Ridge

By: Clayton Whitney/Senior Writer

Blue Ridge School District had its first 2-hour delay of the year on November 12th. Winter Storm Caleb brought a mixture of rain and snow, late Monday night into early Tuesday morning. Although snow accumulations were only around one inch, freezing temperatures in the low 20s made for dangerous traveling conditions.

Blue Ridge along with many other schools in the area decided to schedule a 2-hour delay to allow more time for PennDOT to clear icy roads.

As winter is becoming more prevalent, expect this to not be the only time Blue Ridge will be delaying or potentially closing for a snow day.
