Envirothon at States

By: Skylar Secord/Content Editor

When we last saw the legendary Blue Ridge Smartmouth Bass Envirothon team they were breaking Susquehanna County records.  This past week, May 23 and 24 they attended the State Envirothon.  This two day competition also involved going to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. While at the competition the teams competed in an incredibly broad range of topics involving wildlife, forestry, aquatics, and soils.

These teams competed with others from all around the state to place 7th out of 64 participants.  Amazingly the team broke two Susquehanna County records this year.  Their scores were record breaking and this is the highest place any Susquehanna County Envirothon team has ever placed at the State Competition.

“Mr. Price is a fantastic teacher and we had great chemistry on the team this year.”  Isabella Cosmello, Senior Envirothon member stated to the Raider Reader.
