Coat Drive Follow Up

By: Madison Gelinger/Sophomore Writer

The Blue Ridge Leo Club held its annual coat drive on October 17th and 18th in the small gym. With an estimated 50 families benefiting from the coat drive, it seems to have been a huge success. Last year, the coat drive gave away about 300 coats, and this year they gave away 352 coats, as well as hats, gloves, boots, and snow pants.

The Blue Ridge School District is fortunate to have the help of not only the Leo Club but also teachers who volunteered their time. Leo Club President Jenna McCarthy says, “Helpful acts are rare in the world. I think it’s really cool that as a smaller school we’re able to make such a big impact.”

The Leo Club will also host the Veterans Day Breakfast on Monday, November 11th.
