Each month, teachers at Blue Ridge High School and teachers at the Blue Ridge Middle School nominate students for recognition of both character and academic success. Additionally, teachers nominate students for athletic achievement and artistic expression. Those students are then voted on by the entire high school and middle school staff. The students with the most votes receive a certificate and are invited to attend the next school board meeting for official recognition.
For October, 2020, the students of the month are as follows: sixth-grader, Rebecca Paterno; seventh-grader, Dariyan Parks; eighth-grader, Emma Button; ninth-grader, Kelsey Wolfe; tenth-grader, Madison Carpenter; 11th-grader Reese Allen and 12th-grader, Maliki Upright.
Athletes of the month are seventh-grader, Matthew Carey and 12th-grader, Holly Geyer.
Artists of the month for October are two chorus members, eighth-grader Janna Weed and 12th-grader, Tony Dissinger.
