By: Madison Welsted/Content Editor

Homecoming week is almost here! To keep you updated, here are the plans for the week of October 19th.

Monday, October 14th: NO SCHOOL

Tuesday, October 15th: The theme is Dallas Day. (Dress in something country-themed!) There will be a Drive-In Movie Night in the student parking lot at 7:00 pm. The movie will be Spider-man: Homecoming.

Wednesday, October 16th: The theme is Honolulu Get-Away. (Dress as a tourist!) Don’t forget to come to the Dodge Ball Tournament in the Blue Ridge main gym at 7:00 pm.

Thursday, October 17th: The theme is Vegas Lights Pink Out. (Wear as much pink as you can find!) There will be a girls’ Pink Out volleyball game against Dunmore at 6:00 pm. It is also Senior Night for our Lady Raiders. Make sure to show your support!

Friday, October 18th: The theme is Hometown Pride. (Wear your class shirts! If a student doesn’t have one, wear your class color: freshmen wear white, sophomores wear red, juniors wear gray, and seniors wear black.) The second half of the school day will be a pep rally, hosted by student council. Class participation is encouraged and necessary in order to win the event. The Homecoming dance will be hosted in the main gym at 7:00 pm!

Saturday, October 19th: Susquehanna Sabers Football game vs. Carbondale at 1:00 pm.

Homecoming and spirit week are an exciting part of the school year, so let’s get ready!

Madison will be a young graduate at 17, but she is looking forward to finishing her senior year of high school. In the future, she plans to earn her master's degree in a major related to psychology, as she aspires to become a one-on-one counselor. She works at Subway and babysits to help save money. In her free time, she likes to read, write, and talk to people, so journalism is a topic of interest to her for sure.
